NARA SCHOOL MENUKI

This is a large pair of menuki from the Nara school. They measure 4 cm by 2.4 cm. They are unusual in that they are made of nigurome which is shakudo made without the gold content. The are well carved as Shoki wrestling with a demon.

They come with old Tokubetsu Kitcho Kodogu papers from the NBTHK attributing them to the Nara school.
