This is an interesting tsuba of the Hizen school in Kyushu. The carved design is that of one thousand monkeys. It is somewhat unusual in that all of the monkeys are in motion. Usually they are static. It is well carved and in excellent condition. It measures 7 cm by 6.8 cm.
