FINE SHAKUDO TSUBA
This is a beautiful shakudo tsuba which is probably from the Bushu school. The shakudo is dark and rich showing a high gold content. The carved design is of flowering plants with golod highlights. The rim is covered in a thick gold foil. There is one small dent in the edge of the gold rim (sword cut?). This is a large tsuba measuring 7.6 cm by 7.4 cm.
