A fine red copper kodzuka carved as a dried salmon in the round. The dried fish is the symbol of the present given anyone entering on a long journey. It also has the hidden meaning that the recipient will be "well preserved" in health. A small gold tablet is set into the reverse side and is signed Sukenari. Perhaps of the Hamano school. Ca.1700.
