SIGNED KAMAKURA ERA KEN

This is a rare signed Ken from the Kamakura Era. It is made in the double edged Ken style and signed by its maker, Nagamitsu. This smith worked in the Yamato Senjuin school around 1317.

This blade has a suguha temper with a bright nie guchi. The hada is a flowing masame and very beautiful. There are a few areas of loose hada as one would expect with a blade of this age. They do not detract from its overall beauty and grace.

The cutting edge of this Ken is 13 7/8 inches. It comes in an old shirasaya with a gold foil habaki. It is accompanied by NBTHK Hozon papers attesting to the validity of the signature.

PRICE: $ 12,000.00
