This is a very attractive Ko-Kinko tsuba from the Muromachi Era. It is slightly oval and measures 2.5 inches or 6.4 cm by 2.35 inches or 6.0 cm. It is made of a rich and dark shakudo evidencing the high gold content in the shakudo. It is covered on both sides by a beautiful floral pattern done in gold and shakudo on top of a very fine nanako background. The mimi is raised and is made of smooth shakudo. This is an absolutely exquisite piece.
It comes with NBTHK Hozon papers and rests in a custom made fitted wooden box. A real work of art in a small package.
