This is a pair of shakudo and gold wash menuki depicting good fortune. They are intricately carved depicting auspicious gifts of Tai (fish) and clams. The clams are held in woven baskets tied with seaweed and the Tai are shown at their side.
Both of these items are symbolic gifts for the New Year or other auspicious occasions. These menuki measure just under two inches or 5 cm. They are in excellent condition and come in a wooden box.
