I am pleased to present this fine example of a Kyo-sukashi iron tsuba. This tsuba has been delicately carved in a four lobed mokko shape. Within the tsuba is a diamond shaped carving and within each of the four lobes are six geese in full flight. Despite the fact that these carvings are so delicately carved, they are all in excellent condition with no rust or breakage as is often found on this type of tsuba.
It is a large tsuba made for a katana. It measures 3 1/2 inches tall by 3 3/16 inchs wide. That equates to 8.25 cm by 8.1 cm. The tsuba comes in a fitted wooden box.
