Japanese Swords: Sôshû-Den Masterpieces by Dmitry Pechalov.  Published in 2019.  Clothbound with slipcase and cardboard storage box, 11 1/2 x 15 3/4″, 368 pages in English.  This is easily the most important and most beautiful book on the great swords of Sôshû since Dr. Homma’s Sôshû Den Meisaku Shu.  Blades by many/most of the great masters are included.  There are 113 pages of large, crystal clear photos taken by staff at The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg and 219 pages of well researched text by the author.

You will not see anything like this again.  Publishing a book like this is not done for profit as they are cost prohibitive. They are done to preserve a record of important swords in one’s collection or in the collection of a museum.  This book  contains not only outstanding photography showing all of the wonderful detail of each and every sword and fitting, but also a wealth of knowledge about Sôshû blades and these blades in particular.  When they are out of print, it is highly unlikely that there will be a second printing.

We have only two copies of this book and both are new and unopened being contained in their original packaging and shrink wrap.  When they are gone, they are gone.  They will be sent to domestic buyers via media mail so that shipping costs will be minimal.  Of course, if the buyer is in a hurry and wishes to pay a higher fee, we will ship them by Priority mail or even Express mail because shipping is not included in the sales price.

Please note:  The photographs in this listing were taken of my personal copy that has seen some use.  The book you will be buying is absolutely new and unopened.
