Here is a tantô that will keep you from going broke.  It’s not really a tantô, its a surreptitious way to carry around your spending money.  This is a boken (no blade) with a saya that is hinged to slide apart just below the kurikata to reveal a hidden slot for carrying pre-Meiji silver and gold coins.

Sort of a Samurai’s penny Loafer for those of us who remember what  penny Loafers were.
